The 2023 SOCPA Annual meeting will take a closer look at how Creighton University Student Counseling Services adapted to growing student mental health and wellness needs through the effective adaptation of a stepped model of care.
OCDPB CEUs will be applied for. The prevention education domain for this session is three hours in P6 - Professional Growth and Responsibility.

Dr. Peter currently serves as the Senior Director for Student Counseling Services and the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center as part of Student Life at Creighton University. She has been with Creighton for six years, first as the Director of Student Counseling. Dr. Peter has extensive experience working in a wide range of settings and with diverse populations, including adults and juveniles in detention, community mental health, in-home counseling, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient therapy, and cognitive, emotional, and neuropsychological assessment and consultation. Prior to joining Creighton, Dr. Peter was a psychologist at CHI Health (previously known as Alegent Health System) where she worked through various leadership roles over nine years and had oversight over various levels of care within the large behavioral health department.
Dr. Peter received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Oakland University and her PsyD from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Psychologist in Nebraska.
Dr. Peter is originally from Michigan but has lived in Omaha, Nebraska for the last 22 years. She is married with two teenage children, one of whom is in his freshman year at Creighton. She has two dogs and a cat and enjoys spending time on house projects, reading, going for walks, and hanging out with family and friends.
